RSO Event
I went to an event for the Men's Club Ultimate Frisbee organization. There were quite a few people there but it was still fun. We threw around a Frisbee for a while and socialized meeting a lot of new people. We then started up a game of ultimate and it is actually a lot more competitive than I thought but I enjoyed it all just don't think I will be joining the team.
Diversity Event
I went to the event talking about living with autism at a university. Not necessarily an event that I would go to again, I didn't feel I learned anything new. I have known many people with autism, and you just have to have be kind and have patience. I feel bad for those who struggle or have been made fun of because that is wrong. Basically all we can do is be a good person and try to help out when we can which is what I strive to do everyday.
Fine Arts Event 2
I went along with a friend to the Electroacoustic Surround Sound Concert here. It was actually really nice. They had good placement of all the speakers so you felt right in the middle of all the different sounds. It was a little too relaxing because I almost fell asleep. I remember the music including water drops along with pouring water, with many bells, hums and metallic instruments. There was also a piece that was supposed to sound like a helicopter circling the room and then a UFO hovering over us accompanied by electronic sounds. I would go back again.
Off-Campus Event
I went to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum recently with my sister. They had a lot of really cool things in there and I like how it is hands on. There were a lot of old cool artifacts and the mystery of the mummy exhibit was really interesting. My favorite was the science in motion part. I liked testing my reaction time and grip strength. In that section you can also use your body to make electricity from simple things and even test Newton's Law of Motion with your own body. It was an enjoyable experience.
Fine Arts Event
I went to see a magic show known as The Maze and it was definitely interesting. I still don't know how he did it but I guess that's the point. Everything he did in the show was connected. He had some girl up there holding a number he wrote down at the beginning, and then later on there was a random guy up there who picked a completely random number out of a phone book. The magician had predicted the number on the sheet of paper, and then flipped over the table and it had the same number written on it for everyone to see. He also got some girl's phone in a jar of jelly beans on the other side of the room and I still don't know how, but it was fun.
Athletic Event
One of the football games I went to was Homecoming weekend when my parents were visiting. They had a room at the Radison hotel, which is where the football team also stayed so I got to meet a lot of the players the night before the game when I went there for dinner. The game was a lot of fun, even though it got really cold. At the beginning it seemed like it was going to be a close game, but then we pulled away and won 45-30 keeping us undefeated. The halftime show was cool with the girls twirling and tossing those torches along with the marching band. Also the sports car they drove out was a nice touch.
